  • Applying for Jobs and need a WWC Check?

    Sep 20, 2016

If you are applying for jobs which require a WWC Check and you do not already have one or yours has expired, you can only apply for a Check when you have been successful in gaining a position.

Once a prospective employer offers you a position (that involves child-related work) they will request you apply for a WWC Check and they will sign and verify your child-related work on your WWC Check application form.

The WWC Act requires that you only apply when you are about to start child-related employment. Your application receipt is proof that you have a pending application and in most cases this allows you to start your child-related work. For more information about working while you have a pending application please click here.
  • WWC Check fee increase from 1 July 2016

    Jul 01, 2016

A small fee increase for a WWC Check will take effect from 1 July 2016. For paid employees and self-employed people this is a small increase in line with CPI, from $82.00 to $83.00.

The WWC Check continues to be subsidised by Government and does not reflect the full cost of the ‘live’ Check. For more information about current fees click here.
